The bed channels of pickup trucks are susceptible to cracking and damage over time, especially when subjected to heavy payloads, fifth-wheel mounts, overland bed racks, camper shells, or off-roading stresses. The brackets provide rigidity to help minimize the sheet metal of the truck bed from extreme torque. Our brackets add an extra 3/8-inches of steel, composed of a 3/16-inch stiffener and a 3/16-inch backer plate.
