Dune Theory is committed to providing a clear and transparent shipping experience. Because many products sold by Dune Theory are fulfilled directly by manufacturers, suppliers, or distribution partners, shipping methods, processing times, freight requirements, and delivery conditions may vary by product.

By placing an order with Dune Theory, you acknowledge and agree to the shipping terms outlined below.

1. Order Processing & Fulfillment

Dune Theory operates primarily through a manufacturer and supplier fulfillment model.

Depending on the product, an order may be:

  • Shipped directly from the manufacturer.

  • Shipped directly from a supplier or distribution partner.

  • Shipped from another authorized fulfillment facility.

  • Shipped separately from other products in the same order.

Products within a single order may therefore arrive in separate shipments and may have different tracking numbers, carriers, processing times, and delivery dates.

2. Shipping & Fulfillment Times

Dune Theory provides estimated shipping and fulfillment times whenever information is available.

All shipping and fulfillment times are estimates only.

Manufacturer production schedules, inventory availability, order volume, carrier capacity, weather, holidays, freight scheduling, and other circumstances may affect fulfillment.

Dune Theory does not guarantee manufacturer fulfillment times or carrier delivery dates.

A manufacturer or supplier may require additional processing time before an order is released to a carrier.

Where a manufacturer provides a product-specific lead time, that estimate may be displayed on the product page, during checkout, or communicated after purchase.

3. Manufacturer and Supplier Fulfillment

Because products may be shipped directly by third parties, Dune Theory does not maintain physical inventory of every product listed on the website.

Manufacturer and supplier inventory information may change without notice.

If a product becomes unavailable after an order is placed, Dune Theory may:

  • Contact the customer regarding availability.

  • Provide an updated estimated fulfillment time.

  • Offer an alternative where appropriate.

  • Cancel the affected portion of the order and issue the applicable refund.

4. Shipping Carriers

Depending on the product and shipping requirements, orders may be shipped using carriers including, but not limited to:

  • UPS

  • FedEx

  • USPS

  • LTL freight carriers

  • Other manufacturer- or supplier-selected carriers

Dune Theory does not guarantee that a particular carrier will be used unless expressly stated at the time of purchase.

The manufacturer or fulfillment partner may select the carrier based on product dimensions, weight, destination, service availability, and shipping requirements.

5. Multiple Shipments

Products from the same order may ship separately.

This can occur when:

  • Products are supplied by different manufacturers.

  • Products are located at different fulfillment facilities.

  • Products have different processing times.

  • Certain products require freight transportation.

  • Certain products cannot be combined into one shipment.

Customers may receive separate shipping confirmations and tracking information.

Separate shipments do not necessarily indicate that an item is missing from the order.

6. Standard Package Shipments

Standard-size products may be shipped through parcel carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the applicable product, destination, shipping method, manufacturer requirements, and other applicable factors.

Standard parcel delivery estimates provided at checkout or after purchase are estimates and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

7. Oversized & Freight Shipments

Certain products require freight transportation because of their size, weight, dimensions, packaging requirements, or manufacturer shipping rules.

Examples may include:

  • Steel bumpers

  • Rock sliders

  • Chase racks

  • Large body components

  • Certain suspension products

  • Large recovery equipment

  • Other oversized automotive products

Extensive freight rules may apply to oversized and freight shipments.

Freight charges may vary based on:

  • Product dimensions

  • Product weight

  • Shipping destination

  • Commercial or residential delivery

  • Rural or remote location

  • Liftgate requirements

  • Appointment requirements

  • Limited-access locations

  • Freight terminal requirements

  • Re-delivery or re-routing

  • Carrier-specific charges

The customer is responsible for applicable freight charges unless Dune Theory expressly states otherwise.

8. Residential, Rural & Limited-Access Deliveries

Freight carriers may impose additional charges for residential, rural, remote, or limited-access destinations.

Additional charges may also apply for services such as:

  • Liftgate delivery

  • Delivery appointments

  • Re-delivery

  • Address corrections

  • Re-routing

  • Limited-access locations

  • Inside delivery

  • Other specialized freight services

Where additional freight charges apply, Dune Theory may contact the customer before shipment when reasonably possible.

9. Buyer Responsibility for Shipping Charges

The buyer is responsible for all applicable shipping charges unless Dune Theory expressly states otherwise.

This includes applicable charges associated with:

  • Original shipping

  • Freight shipping

  • Oversized products

  • Residential delivery

  • Rural or remote delivery

  • Re-routing

  • Address corrections

  • Delivery changes

  • Additional carrier services

  • Return shipping

  • Other carrier or manufacturer shipping charges

Shipping charges may be calculated or determined by the manufacturer or fulfillment partner.

10. Free Shipping

When Dune Theory advertises a product as eligible for free shipping, the offer applies only to the shipping service and destination specifically stated in the applicable promotion or product listing.

Free shipping does not necessarily include:

  • Freight upgrades

  • Residential freight surcharges

  • Liftgate service

  • Remote-area charges

  • Re-routing charges

  • Address correction charges

  • Additional carrier services

  • International duties, taxes, or customs charges

Where a manufacturer applies additional charges outside the advertised shipping offer, the customer may be responsible for those charges.

11. Shipping Address

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at the time of purchase.

Customers should verify:

  • Street address

  • Apartment or unit number

  • City

  • State

  • ZIP code

  • Contact telephone number

  • Any required delivery instructions

Dune Theory is not responsible for delays, additional charges, or delivery problems caused by an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the customer.

Address changes should be requested immediately after placing an order.

Once an order has entered fulfillment or been transferred to a carrier, Dune Theory may be unable to modify the destination.

12. Order Rerouting & Address Changes

If a shipment has already left the manufacturer or fulfillment facility, changing the delivery destination may result in additional carrier charges.

All applicable re-routing, address-correction, or delivery-change charges are the customer's responsibility.

Dune Theory cannot guarantee that a carrier will approve a requested change.

13. Tracking Information

Tracking information will be provided when available.

Tracking information may not become active immediately after a shipping notification is generated.

Some manufacturers may create shipping labels before the package is physically transferred to the carrier.

Customers should allow reasonable processing time for tracking information to update.

14. Delivery Inspection

Customers should inspect shipments promptly upon delivery.

For large, oversized, and freight shipments, customers should inspect the exterior packaging and product for visible damage before accepting delivery whenever reasonably possible.

If damage is visible, customers should document the condition with photographs and follow the carrier's applicable damage-reporting procedures.

Do not discard damaged packaging until Dune Theory has provided further instructions.

15. Damaged Shipments

Shipping damage is handled separately from ordinary returns.

All shipping-damage claims must be reported to Dune Theory within 24 hours of delivery. No exceptions.

Customers must provide:

  • Photographs of the damaged product.

  • Photographs of the exterior packaging.

  • Photographs of the shipping label when requested.

  • Order information.

  • A description of the damage.

  • Any additional documentation requested by Dune Theory, the manufacturer, or carrier.

Customers must preserve the product and packaging until the claim has been reviewed.

Damage claims are reviewed case-by-case and may be subject to manufacturer and carrier requirements.

Failure to report shipping damage within the required 24-hour period may result in denial of the claim, subject to applicable law.

16. Lost, Delayed, or Misdelivered Packages

If tracking indicates that a shipment has been delivered but the customer cannot locate it, the customer should contact Dune Theory promptly.

Dune Theory may work with the applicable manufacturer, supplier, or carrier to investigate the shipment.

Customers may be required to provide information or documentation necessary to investigate the claim.

Carrier investigations may take time to complete.

Dune Theory does not guarantee replacement or refund of a shipment until the applicable investigation and claim process has been completed.

17. Weather, Carrier Delays & Circumstances Beyond Our Control

Dune Theory is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather

  • Natural disasters

  • Carrier disruptions

  • Manufacturer delays

  • Supplier delays

  • Transportation disruptions

  • Labor disruptions

  • Government actions

  • Holidays

  • Product shortages

  • Acts of God

  • Other circumstances beyond Dune Theory's reasonable control

Estimated delivery dates may change as circumstances develop.

18. International Shipping

Dune Theory may offer international shipping on products where the manufacturer, supplier, carrier, and applicable laws permit.

International customers are responsible for all applicable:

  • Customs duties

  • Import taxes

  • VAT

  • Brokerage charges

  • Customs fees

  • Government charges

  • Other destination-country fees

International customs, taxes, and other import-related charges are the customer's responsibility.

Dune Theory does not guarantee that every product is eligible for international shipment.

19. International Warranty Considerations

Customers purchasing products for shipment outside the United States acknowledge that manufacturer warranty coverage may vary by country.

In some circumstances, a manufacturer's warranty may be limited, unavailable, or void for products exported outside the United States.

Customers should verify applicable manufacturer warranty coverage before placing an international order when warranty availability is important to the purchase decision.

20. Shipping Restrictions

Certain products may have shipping restrictions because of:

  • Product size

  • Product weight

  • Hazardous-material requirements

  • Manufacturer restrictions

  • Carrier restrictions

  • Geographic restrictions

  • International restrictions

  • Government regulations

Dune Theory may restrict or refuse shipment to certain destinations where fulfillment is unavailable or prohibited.

21. Shipping Charges on Returns

Return shipping is governed by the Dune Theory Return & Refund Policy and applicable manufacturer requirements.

Return-shipping responsibility depends on the reason for the return and the applicable manufacturer requirements.

Customers should not independently ship a product back before receiving an approved Dune Theory RMA and return instructions.

22. Original Shipping Charges

Original shipping charges are non-refundable on eligible returns, subject to applicable law.

Where an order originally qualified for free shipping, Dune Theory may account for applicable standard shipping costs when calculating a refund where permitted by the applicable manufacturer terms and applicable law.

23. Manufacturer-Specific Shipping Requirements

Because Dune Theory works with multiple manufacturers and suppliers, individual products may be subject to manufacturer-specific shipping requirements.

These requirements may include:

  • Specific carriers

  • Freight requirements

  • Shipping charges

  • Delivery restrictions

  • Residential surcharges

  • Oversized-product charges

  • Packaging requirements

  • International restrictions

  • Shipping destinations

  • Manufacturer-specific processing times

Where manufacturer-specific requirements apply, Dune Theory will administer the order according to the applicable requirements.

24. Shipping Policy and Other Dune Theory Policies

This Shipping Policy should be read together with Dune Theory's:

  • Return & Refund Policy

  • Warranty Policy

  • Privacy Policy

In the event of a conflict, the policy specifically addressing the subject matter will generally control, subject to applicable law.

25. Policy Administration

Dune Theory reserves the right to modify this Shipping Policy as manufacturers, suppliers, carriers, fulfillment procedures, and business operations change.

The Shipping Policy in effect at the time of purchase will generally govern the applicable transaction, subject to applicable law and manufacturer-specific requirements.
